LOS CUCUTEÑOS MEJOR CAMINAMOS

“El transporte en Cúcuta”

Vergüenza debería darles a quienes vienen tomado decisiones que afectan al pueblo cucuteño, que a pesar de  ser la ciudad con mayores índices de pobreza, de la dura afectación social y económica por 7 años de ilegalidad en la frontera, migración, narcotráfico, inseguridad, desempleo, los efectos colaterales de la pandemia del Covid-19, la indiferencia de quienes la gobiernan en sus lujosos escritorios y altos estilos de vida, seguir sumándole penurias a una gran cantidad de personas que a diario viven del rebusque y que tratan de no dejar morir de hambre a los miembros de sus familias. Con los precios más caros de todo el país en sus servicios públicos, la canasta familiar desbordada y la escasez de “camello” o trabajo, ahora se les ocurre subir el valor del transporte público, vehículos en su mayoría obsoletos, sin garantías mínimas de seguridad vial, ambiental, no todos por supuesto, pero sin propuestas a mediano plazo de transporte masivo serio, eficiente, una ciudad en desorden, sin autoridad de tránsito diferente a la coercitiva o multas, foto multas cualquiera sea el caso, y un oscuro panorama a futuro.

¿Qué pensarían aquellos que reconstruyeron la ciudad después del terremoto de 1875, cuando fuimos una urbe organizada y reconstruida a la francesa en donde a todos nos dolía la ciudad y en donde éramos capaces de hacer algo de inmediato? Pero acá un recuento de lo que viene sucediendo. La revista Semana informa que: “Así las cosas, desde este miércoles 01 de junio de 2022 los cucuteños, bajo el Acuerdo Metropolitano N° 007 del 11 de agosto de 2021, deberán pagar un valor de $2.400 para los que utilicen el transporte público colectivo (buseta), entre Cúcuta y los municipios metropolitanos”.

Ante este anuncio, la ciudadanía ha expresado su desacuerdo en redes sociales, pues argumenta que la situación actual que atraviesa Cúcuta en temas de economía no es favorable y otros se quejan por el mal servicio de algunos conductores de este gremio, así como también el estado de deterioro en que se encuentran varias busetas.

Basta con traer a la memoria de todos nosotros la recopilación hecha por nuestro amigo historiador Gastón Bermúdez, quien nos narra cómo tuvimos uno de los mejores sistemas de transporte; los invito a soñar, a trasladarse a ese momento: “Durante más de medio siglo las calles de Cúcuta fueron recorridas por el único amo y señor que tuvieron en las primeras décadas del siglo pasado: El Tranvía. Partía de la desaparecida Estación Cúcuta y recorría los cuatro puntos cardinales de la ciudad. En Cúcuta no se usaron jamás las mulas para tirar los livianos y ondulatorios carritos del tranvía. La compañía resolvió el problema con unas máquinas de vapor que muchas veces parecieron no tener la suficiente fuerza para arrastrar los cuatro coches plenos los domingos en la tarde, cuando los papás complacientes, los maridos amables y los novios gastadores, asaltaban los vehículos seguidos por toda la familia para hacer unos cuantos viajecitos, desde la Estación Cúcuta a Los Balkanes y viceversa.

 

Cuando las calles destapadas y quebradas de la floreciente San José, eran un nidal de polvo en verano y una pegachenta masa amorfa de barro en invierno, el ritmo de vida de sus poco más de treinta mil habitantes, era marcado por el trepidar constante de la campana que, durante casi cuarenta años, marcó el paso del rey indiscutible de las vías de entonces: El Tranvía de Cúcuta. La instalación de los rieles se realizó durante el transcurso del año 1888 y finalmente, el 30 de abril de 1889, fue inaugurado su primer trayecto. Partía de la Estación Cúcuta (Terminal de Transporte) a la Aduana Nacional (Centro Comercial Oití) con un tramo de 1.7 Km. Posteriormente, y a medida que la ciudad se iba extendiendo con el correr de los años, fue necesario ampliar la red ferroviaria urbana y fue así como se dieron al servicio del público las rutas: Estación Cúcuta- Estación Rosetal (Actual Bomba Rosetal, Av. Gran Colombia) en 1893, Estación Cúcuta- Estación Sur (Puente San Rafael) en 1919, Estación Cúcuta- Puente Espuma (Actual sitio del Cementerio Central) en 1927. Las locomotoras que accionaban el tranvía recordaban con sus nombres los ríos y quebradas más importantes de la región: ‘Pamplonita’, ‘Táchira’, ‘Floresta’, ‘Torbes’, ‘Tonchalá’ y ‘La Grita”.

Solo quedan los buenos recuerdos, debemos tomar una decisión en donde la ciudadanía participe, los ediles, los presidentes de junta de acción comunal, los líderes comunitarios, los gerentes de transporte, nuestra policía nacional, los concejales, el alcalde, todos sentarnos a revisar los problemas reales de la ciudad, no se puede estar tan desconectado de la realidad, para tomar una decisión de este talante, por el momento lo mejor es caminar, los cucuteños caminamos, bajo el sol y la brisa de los almendrones y oitís que aún quedan.
