Cada día, decenas de venezolanos llegan hasta La Parada, en Villa del Rosario, a engrosar una lista que solo crece y crece con el pasar de las horas, la de los hermanos del vecino país que, tras meses y años en otras ciudades de Colombia y Suramérica, hoy solo sueñan con volver a Venezuela y empezar de cero en la tierra que los vio nacer.
Apiñados en cambuches a lo largo de la Autopista Internacional que en otros años vivía atiborrada de vehículos a la espera de cruzar la frontera, los migrantes que buscan retornar a su país pasan hambre, sufren las inclemencias del clima y, lo peor, se exponen a un contagio masivo de coronavirus antes de llegar a sus hogares del otro lado del río Táchira.
Esta situación, que no es nueva, se ha agudizado en los últimos meses ante la negativa de Nicolás Maduro de recibir a sus ciudadanos conforme van llegando a la frontera y, por el contrario, obligarlos a permanecer en condiciones miserables en suelo colombiano, bajo el alegato de que los espacios dispuestos en el Táchira para pasar la cuarentena de los que quieren ingresar a Venezuela, están colapsados.
El alcalde de Villa del Rosario, Eugenio Rangel, se ha convertido en un espectador más de esta realidad que se le ha impuesto y para la que no está preparado ni cuenta con los recursos para hacerle frente. Desde el Gobierno nacional, son pocas las iniciativas que se han dispuesto para reversar esta situación y hallarle una solución de fondo que pase por descongestionar la Autopista Internacional e impedir un posible foco de contagio masivo en toda la línea fronteriza.
Y en el medio de esta realidad, aparece Cúcuta, la ciudad que necesariamente se vuelve receptora de los hermanos venezolanos que, varados en La Parada, ven en nuestras calles el único espacio posible para generarse algún dinero o alimento que les permita aguantar, quién sabe cuánto tiempo más, a que Maduro se decida a reabrir los pasos fronterizos.
Ni Cancillería, ni Migración Colombia, ni ninguna autoridad nacional, parece querer apersonarse de esta bomba social que podría explotar en cualquier momento y llevarnos, ahí sí, a un desbordamiento de nuestro sistema de salud y a una emergencia sin precedentes en todos los niveles.
Que a la par de las apuestas por frenar la propagación del coronavirus y reactivar la economía, los dirigentes de nuestra región y del país, piensen en cómo solucionar de fondo la crisis de los migrantes, es el llamado que desde esta tribuna les hace El General.
