Precisamente uno que está leyéndole el juego político nacional es el ex concejal y ahora ex Defensor Departamental del Pueblo Jaime Marthey quien renunció para no inhabilitarse y estaría pensando en lanzarse a la gobernación. Marthey desde el partido liberal podría liderar una candidatura que agrupe a los sectores políticos cercanos al pacto histórico y al partido verde para competirle por el puesto en la cúpula chata a William Villamizar. Dicen los pasajeros cercanos a Marthey que faltan cosas por definir, pero que Jaime está listo. La cosa se está poniendo buena.
PLAN B
Otro que sigue recorriendo el departamento y que sería una especie de plan B a la gobernación por parte del equipo del gobernador Silvano Serrano en caso de que la candidatura de William Villamizar sufriera algún tropiezo es el ex alcalde de Los Patios Diego González. El estaría haciendo el ejercicio a ver si le suena la flauta o en caso contrario si no se da la candidatura a la gobernación podría intentar repetir la alcaldía de Los Patios.

La alianza que se habría sellado hace ya algunas semanas, es la del movimiento de Ramiro Suarez con el ex concejal y ahora candidato a la alcaldía Leonardo Jacome. Este ha anunciado que se presentará por firmas a la alcaldía de Cúcuta y contaría con el respaldo del movimiento político del ex alcalde Suarez, además de los sectores del partido conservador cercanos al Senador Juan Carlos García y a parte del movimiento de William Villamizar. Como quien dice, Jacome está intentando agrupar al grueso de la clase política tradicional que ha gobernado en los últimos años en la ciudad y el departamento.
