Y pasó lo que muchos temían en el país: un candidato de izquierda, que militó en la guerrilla del M19, se convirtió en el presidente de Colombia y con su triunfo afloraron y se exacerbaron aún más los temores que millones de colombianos tenían a flor de piel, siendo el más grande ellos, ¿nos vamos a convertir en Venezuela?
Gustavo Petro, en su tercer intento por llegar a la Casa de Nariño, logró su sueño con más de 11 millones de votos, superando por menos de un millón a Rodolfo Hernández, la gran sorpresa de la política colombiana y quien quedó con un reto muy grande: lograr liderar el sentir de más de 10 millones de colombianos que se manifestaron en las urnas por su propuesta y que esperan que pueda ser la oposición a un Petro que, por el contrario, ha convocado a todas las fuerzas políticas del país a un Gran Acuerdo Nacional en el que, gobierno y oposición, tengan cabida en la apuesta por lograr hacer de Colombia un país mejor y más justo para todos.
Sin embargo, Rodolfo, a través de un par de comunicados, ha dado pistas de que, por ahora, no está interesado en ser la cabeza de una oposición que se encuentra huérfana en estos momentos. En un primer momento manifestó que no desconocería los resultados de las elecciones y que no estaba interesado en sembrar ninguna duda sobre los mismos. Luego dijo que aceptaría la curul en el Senado prevista por el Estatuto de la Oposición, para el candidato perdedor de la contienda presidencial, pero no sería oposición sino que se mantendría como independiente.
De ser así y con un expresidente Álvaro Uribe cada vez más desdibujado de la escena política nacional y un Centro Democrático muy golpeado tras el cuestionado gobierno de Iván Duque, no se vislumbra un político en Colombia que pueda recoger las banderas de esos 10 millones de colombianos que votaron en contra de Petro y que hoy no saben quién les va a representar.
Sergio Fajardo es muy probable que termine siendo invitado por Petro a hacer parte de su gobierno, donde se encontraría con Alejandro Gaviria que ya está con él. Los hermanos Galán, que se la jugaron con Rodolfo para segunda vuelta, buscarán un acercamiento con Petro con el fin de recibir su apoyo para llegar a la Alcaldía de Bogotá. Del Centro Democrático varias figuras ya se han manifestado en clara oposición al nuevo gobierno, siendo María Fernanda Cabal la más visible de ellas. En el Congreso, por su parte, los partidos Liberal y Conservador ya han anunciado acercamientos con el fin de hacer parte de la bancada de gobierno, a cambio, como es apenas obvio, de juego burocrático.
Así las cosas, la oposición en Colombia seguirá huérfana y con el pasar de los días serán más los que terminarán aceptando la invitación de Gustavo Petro a integrar un Gran Acuerdo Nacional. En las regiones, lo que la ciudadanía espera es que sus promesas de campaña se hagan realidad, sobre todo las que apuntan a dos puntos fundamentales y que fueron su principal lunar durante la contienda política: no expropiar y entregar el poder en 4 años. ¿Cumplirá? Hacemos votos porque así sea.
