Colombia es un país que se lee desde la violencia. Hay territorios que jamás han vivido en paz y otros donde las guerras parecen reciclarse cada cierto tiempo.

Todos los grupos armados ilegales que han operado en el departamento han encontrado en la coca una fuente de ingresos inagotable y su presencia en el territorio se ha limitado a comercializar este producto, o cobrar gramaje a los ‘narcos’ que, bajo la mirada cómplice de las autoridades, han encontrado en Norte de Santander, y su capital Cúcuta, un espacio ideal para adelantar sus negocios ilícitos.
Porque, la verdad sea dicha, en nuestro departamento, a la par de las Farc, el Eln, el Epl, Los Rastrojos y Los Urabeños, han crecido ‘familias’ narcotraficantes, algunas de las cuales aún subsisten y, otras más, han sido absorbidas por clanes que se volvieron más poderosos o a los que corrieron buscando refugio.
Los Pepes, Los Pulpos, Los Boyacos, solo por mencionar algunas de estas ‘familias’, han hecho de Cúcuta su fortín, en el que las autoridades han sido demasiado permisivas a pesar de las evidentes muestras de sus fortunas mal habidas.
Esto último, curiosamente, se ha incrementado en los últimos años. Cada vez es más común ver en las calles de Cúcuta vehículos de alta gama conducidos por jóvenes herederos de estas mafias intocables que se han alimentado de tanta sangre en la ciudad. Las redes sociales se han convertido, además, en el lugar escogido por estos herederos o sus mujeres trofeo, para competir por cuál tiene el carro más lujoso, la casa con más piscinas o la mejor ropa de marca. Con ellos, la violencia que se creía lejana, por allá en el Catatumbo, se ha trasladado a las calles de la ciudad, donde las ‘vendettas’ por las delaciones en Estados Unidos o ante la Fiscalía, se pagan con sangre.
Ojalá, algún día, la justicia en Cúcuta se dé cuenta del monstruo que ha creado al permitir que tanto dinero mal habido se cuele en nuestras calles. Ojalá, algún día, la justicia en Cúcuta vaya detrás de todos los que, sin haber trabajado un solo día, amasan fortunas incalculables. Ojalá, algún día, la justicia en Cúcuta actúe contra aquellos que alimentan un conflicto que hace rato se trasladó desde la selva, hasta los conjuntos estrato 6 donde los médicos, abogados y políticos se entremezclan con los ‘empresarios de alto riesgo’.
