LA UTILIZACIÓN DE LA POLÍTICA COMO MÉTODO DE DESPRESTIGIO.

A pesar de sus numerosas imperfecciones, nuestro sistema democrático sigue representando la esperanza para la gran mayoría de nosotros, quienes nos acercamos a las urnas cada cuatro años para elegir a nuestros representantes en las diferentes corporaciones públicas a través del voto popular. De hecho, nuestra democracia aún es considerada una de las más sólidas del continente.

Sin embargo, no podemos ocultar que el sistema de elección colombiano, basado en lo que conocemos como clientelismo político, cuenta con pocos electores conscientes. En cambio, nos encontramos con un pueblo lleno de necesidades que vende su decisión a cambio de promesas de favores políticos por parte de los candidatos. Estos ofrecimientos van desde una fórmula médica hasta un puesto de trabajo. Es lamentable ver a muchas personas, especialmente jóvenes, sosteniendo vallas llenas de publicidad política en los semáforos bajo el inclemente sol, a cambio de unos cuantos pesos. Estas imágenes, solo con verlas, deberían causar repudio debido al atropello a la dignidad humana.

En estos momentos de agitación electoral, los aspirantes políticos despliegan su ingenio mediante coloridas banderas que cuelgan sobre las casas, logotipos en postes y aceras que identifican a los partidos o movimientos políticos. Aquí se marca el territorio, algo similar a las leyes que establecen los felinos en las selvas para imponer su dominio territorial.

La desenfrenada lucha por el poder político en nuestro país ha llevado a que muchos candidatos utilicen esta expresión democrática como un arma o método de desprestigio contra sus contrincantes o adversarios. Recurren a asesinatos, injurias, calumnias y toda clase de artimañas para perjudicar a sus oponentes, olvidando que se trata de una fiesta democrática en la que deberían aflorar los valores característicos de nuestra diversa sociedad. Lamentablemente, esto ocurre sin tener en cuenta que lo único que cambia es el discurso, ya que nuestra percepción en materia económica y de seguridad sigue igual o incluso peor.

Una vez que los nuevos gobernantes son elegidos, deben emprender una nueva campaña, pero esta vez de carácter pedagógico, que promueva la reconciliación de todos los colombianos y nos invite a trabajar juntos en la construcción de una sociedad equitativa. Los recientes enfrentamientos entre el fiscal general de la nación, Francisco Barbosa, y el presidente de la República, Gustavo Petro, independientemente de las razones que esgriman, no pueden justificar este choque de poderes. Estas confrontaciones no hacen más que profundizar la polarización existente en el país.

Las elecciones en Colombia empiezan con una serie de promesas y que al fin terminan incumplidas, “el que entra, responsabiliza de la debacle al saliente, los que eran oposición callan ante la incompetencia de sus gobernantes y los que antes callaban esta vez protestan por lo que consideran que esta mal porque ellos no son gobierno”, mientras que el ciudadano de a pie, lucha por reinventarse, para escapar de la miseria, ante el desolador panorama que toda la vida nos ha acompañado, los problemas de desempleo, hambre, corrupción, inestabilidad política, orden público, serán cosas con las que tendremos que lidiar.

Como ciudadanos libres y conscientes del valor de nuestro voto, no permitamos la continuidad de este universo de situaciones, ni aceptemos la  utilización de la política, como una forma de venganza, de quienes antes fueron nuestros rivales políticos, “no enemigos”, alcemos nuestras voces en contra de las injusticias vengan de donde vengan, ya que en los próximos años estaremos frente a un nuevo administrador político, que regirá los destinos de la nación, con quien debemos construir y no rivalizar.
