Más allá de las razones legales que se podrían exponer en esta columna, para justificar la inconveniencia de un séptimo periodo de Héctor Parra al frente de la rectoría de la Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander, queremos apelar a los riesgos que se podrían correr al interior de este centro académico, si es una sola persona la que se empeña en dirigirlo por 22 años, con posibilidad de extenderse hasta 28 años aferrado al poder.
Hasta el momento, Parra acumula 6 mandatos de 3 años cada uno. De ganar hoy las elecciones, acumularía 7 períodos, con la diferencia de que este último sería por 4 años, luego de la modificación que se le hiciera al cargo y que aumentó en un año más la permanencia en el mismo.
A Parra nadie lo ha podido frenar en la UFPS. Ni siquiera cuando se pensionó y muchos creyeron que por fin se iría a descansar. Tampoco, cuando cumplió 70 años, edad en la que los funcionarios públicos están obligados a retirarse.
Parra, contra todo pronóstico, está empeñado en morir como rector de la UFPS, y el Consejo Superior Universitario le está ayudando a lograrlo a través de una ‘jugadita’ que hizo para incluirle al cargo, que era netamente administrativo, el componente docente. De esta manera, Parra podría permanecer hasta los 80 años en la rectoría, pues existe una norma que les permite a los profesores, a pesar de haberse pensionado, ejercer la docencia hasta esta edad y, en su caso, la rectoría. No en vano, ahora los estrategas de su campaña pretenden venderlo como ‘El Profe’.
Parra, en 18 años, ha logrado acumular todo el poder que ha querido, al punto de que es él y nadie más, el que puede elegir los decanos de las facultades y los directores de los programas académicos. Con semejante poder, no es extraño que cuente con el respaldo de gran parte de la planta docente. Además, a punta de becas y subsidios, ha logrado granjearse el aprecio de los estudiantes que creen que es ‘El Profe’ el que les brinda la oportunidad de estudiar en la universidad, y no la Alcaldía y la Gobernación que, a través del desembolso de recursos, garantizan la matrícula cero en el claustro educativo.
De llegar una vez más a la rectoría, Parra tendría 4 años para mover todo lo que esté a su alcance, y aferrarse hasta los 80 años en el cargo que parece creer que solo él es capaz de ocupar.
Para esta séptima campaña, ‘El Profe’ ha prometido lograr la acreditación institucional, algo que no ha podido desde el año 2000 cuando se montó por primera vez en el cargo, del que solo salió por un periodo (2015-2018), cuando ayudó a elegir a quien fuera su secretaria general, Claudia Toloza.
Han pasado 21 años y ni Parra ni Toloza (que fue Parra en cuerpo ajeno) lograron lo que nuevamente este promete alcanzar. Veintiún años en los que en la UFPS solo se ha hecho lo que él ha querido. Veintiún años en los que la Universidad se ha movido a su ritmo, a su antojo. Veintiún años en los que no ha habido cabida a nuevos liderazgos. Veintiún años en los que las voces disonantes han sido calladas. Veintiún años en los que el mundo ha cambiado, menos la UFPS, que sigue anclada a la voluntad y el capricho de un señor que cree que nadie más puede hacer lo que él ni siquiera ha logrado. Veintiún años en los que la UFPS ha perdido protagonismo y hoy solo es una universidad más, del montón, de las que siempre ocupan los últimos puestos de todos los ranquin nacionales y ni qué decir mundiales. Veintiún años en los que solo Héctor Parra ha crecido, porque la Universidad se estancó con su llegada. Veintiún años en los que al menos dos generaciones no han conocido otro rector más que él. Veintiún años que ya fueron suficientes y que ojalá hoy, los estudiantes y profesores logren enterrar en el pasado, así sea con el voto en blanco.

I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard excellent things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
Hello would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with? I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
