QUIERO SER ALCALDE DE CÚCUTA (2a parte)

Y llego el día de cumplir la promesa de invitar a mis amigos a continuar hablando del tema de la aspiración a la alcaldía, cumpliditos llegaron todos, sabiendo que no tenían que gastar nada, eso sí, esperando que la comida y el trago fueran de buena calidad, de lo contrario, Dios nos libre, la crítica estaría dura.

A estas alturas, ya había podido decantar la idea, sobre todo cuando la noticia ya había corrido y los opositores habían aparecido, su maquinaria de insultos, malas palabras, tergiversaciones, acusaciones, etc., ya estaba en marcha, y me preguntaba, ¿vale la pena perder la tranquilidad y la familia para servirle a esta ciudad?

En otras condiciones la respuesta inmediata hubiera sido ¡claro que sí! Pero estoy seguro de que muchos otros candidatos con buenas intenciones terminan cediendo en su intención al analizar la situación actual de la ciudad.

Cúcuta está hoy secuestrada por un grupo de políticos corruptos que, desde hace 20 años, se tomaron la ciudad como su negocio privado, gastan varios miles de pesos en las campañas, a sabiendas de que lo recuperarán durante el periodo respectivo y lo peor, muchos cucuteños les hacen venias y los consideran los doctores, los nuevos ricos de la ciudad, los inversionistas y los generadores de empleo.

Se pasean a sus anchas en sus camionetas blindadas y se jactan de su nuevo estatus, adquirido gracias al engranaje perfecto de su bien pensada maquinaria, corrupta y miserable, diseñada para robar las arcas de la ciudad, periodo tras periodo.

La verdad, mientras los cucuteños sigan vendiendo su voto a estos malandros, la ciudad será inviable, hoy ya ocupamos el deshonroso tercer puesto en pobreza entre las ciudades de Colombia.

A estas alturas de la reunión, ya había dado la razón a los más escépticos.  No quería, pero no había de otra. Estamos secuestrados en una ciudad no viable, sin llegar a la falta de libertades de los países en dictadura como el vecino Venezuela, Corea del Norte o China, el manejo del cucuteño es muy similar, le ocultan las oportunidades que pudieran ver en otras ciudades para comprar la conciencia de los más incautos y negarles oportunidades. No se les permite pensar, ver, escuchar ni hablar, un mercadito de vez en cuando, entregado por el doctor, es suficiente para cuando llega el gran día de las elecciones y con una hayaca comprar el voto y mantener a la ciudad en desgracia.

Sin llegar a cumplir el objetivo de la reunión, era preferible, ante la falta de argumentos y viendo la realidad que se abría ante mis ojos, disfrutar con los amigos y del calor insoportable que a esa hora hacía en la ciudad y continuar viviendo tranquilamente con la esperanza de que algún día la situación haya cambiado y se pueda seguir disfrutando de la que fue una de las ciudades más boyantes del país.
