El verdadero éxito

Por generaciones nos han vendido un concepto de éxito, ligado al acumular dinero, tener gran cantidad de bienes, lujos o simplemente ufanarse de tener poder sobre un grupo de personas, razón por la cual muchos han invertido su tiempo en alcanzar ese espejismo.

Los jóvenes hemos perdido el verdadero norte, como lo manifestó el expresidente de Uruguay Pepe Mujica: “Triunfar en la vida no es ganar, triunfar en la vida es levantarse cada vez que uno cae”, por tanto, el éxito se construye paso a paso; no lo podemos confundir con un suceso que se puede agendar y esperar a que ese día llegue.

Es cierto que para tener éxito, es necesario dedicar tiempo a las actividades importantes. A corto plazo puede que tenga que dar prioridad a algunas actividades sobre otras, sin embargo, esas prioridades difieren para cada persona. La clave es invertir tiempo de calidad en las actividades más importantes.

En la Colombia de la época de Pablo Escobar quedó marcada la posibilidad de hacer dinero de manera rápida e ilegal en corto tiempo, sin medir el riesgo y las muertes que ha implicado en miles de familias, sin importar lo que existe en ese mundo oscuro del que es fácil entrar, pero imposible salir. Aún persisten en muchos jóvenes esos ideales de enriquecerse con actividades de poco esfuerzo y grandes utilidades. Esta es la razón principal por la cual debemos cambiar en la mentalidad de las nuevas generaciones el concepto de éxito.

El éxito va más sobre ser persistente en lugar de ser brillante, ya que cuando queremos que esos triunfos particulares perduren en el tiempo, se debe contar con características claves llamadas disciplina y perseverancia, que en el largo plazo arrojen resultados perdurables.

En todo caso, la noción de éxito es subjetiva y relativa. Lo que para una persona puede ser un éxito, para otra puede ser apenas un consuelo ante el fracaso. En este sentido, podemos considerar como un éxito todo aquel resultado de una persona que nos genere una sensación de realización y de bienestar o, en resumidas cuentas, de felicidad.

La conclusión general es que cada persona tiene su definición de éxito basada en su propósito vital y en lo que es prioritario para cada quien; el éxito es la paz mental, es la autosatisfacción de saber que haces lo máximo para llegar a ser lo mejor que eres capaz de ser.
