MOTILONES DEL NORTE ORGULLO NORTESANTANDEREANO

Culminó la segunda burbuja del baloncesto profesional colombiano, por primera vez con la presencia del equipo de nuestra región, Motilones del Norte. Proyecto que inició desde la Liga Nortesantandereana de Baloncesto liderado por Jhon Felipe Bustamante, con el apoyo de la Gobernación de Norte de Santander y la Alcaldía de San José de Cúcuta, a través de los entes deportivos Indenorte e Instituto Municipal para la Recreación y el Deporte IMRD.

Esta iniciativa la hemos estado apoyando, de la mano de   empresarios, ex jugadores, entrenadores, periodistas y dirigentes deportivos, que día a día con gran ilusión, hemos contribuido para que este sueño de volver a tener equipo profesional se hiciera realidad. La presentación del equipo fue especial, a tal punto que enganchó a los cucuteños y nortesantandereanos, cada noche con los encuentros que fueron transmitidos por televisión desde la ciudad de Cali.

El equipo en su nómina estaba conformado por cuatro jugadores de la región, cuatro jugadores extranjeros y cinco jugadores nacionales, con la dirección de Bernando Fitsh González, entrenador con experiencia nacional e internacional.

Motilones del Norte logró ocupar el tercer lugar en el torneo profesional organizado por la división profesional del baloncesto colombiano con el apoyo de la Federación Colombiana de Baloncesto, el canal Win Sport y el Ministerio del Deporte. Este torneo contó con la participación de 10 equipos de diferentes partes del país, con los históricos Piratas de Bogotá y Búcaros de Bucaramanga, donde el equipo Motilón se destacó por su garra y entrega en cada partido, siendo el equipo revelación del torneo y a su vez, siendo elegido como mejor novato el jugador motilón, Julio Pérez, y el mejor entrenador, Bernardo Fitsh González.

Hoy seguimos buscando que los niños y jóvenes se enamoren cada día más de este deporte y con Motilones del Norte puedan tener una opción de llegar algún día al baloncesto Profesional.

Tenemos toda la ilusión de volver a verlos en la próxima burbuja del Baloncesto Nacional, con la posibilidad de obtener la sede para la capital basquetera de Colombia: San José de Cúcuta.

El Coliseo Toto Hernández y la afición añoran estos encuentros deportivos y la ciudad necesita eventos que impulsen la economía y el turismo, generando a su vez unión y sentido pertenencia por la región. Ojalá se logre.
