¿Qué es ser Santanderista?

El General Francisco de Paula Santander fue el “Organizador de la Victoria” o “El hombre de las leyes”, uno de los grandes próceres de la Independencia, y quien además de sus logros en el campo de batalla, logró dar estructura jurídica y administrativa a la naciente República; pero también, el General Santander ha sido una de las figuras históricamente más calumniadas y atacadas por culpa de erradas interpretaciones históricas, y en gran medida por las disputas bipartidistas de inicios del siglo XlX. Aun así, sus ideales siguen presentes en la actualidad.

Si usted es de los que considera que la Ley está por encima de todo, y no hay excusa para violarla o infringirla, y por el contrario piensa que para que una sociedad pueda convivir y desarrollarse, debe regirse por unas normas y leyes que debe cumplir, usted es Santanderista.

Si usted considera que la educación, y en especial la educación pública, es la base fundamental para el desarrollo de una sociedad y un país, y que, sea a través del estudio y el conocimiento, que se respeten derechos y se cumplan deberes como ciudadano, usted es Santanderista.

Si usted considera que, si Colombia es un país de regiones, como popularmente se le refiere, debe efectivamente dársele más relevancia, autonomía y libertades a estas, y descentralizar algunas facultades, usted es Santanderista.

Si usted cree que una pieza fundamental para que un país se guíe bajo una verdadera democracia, es efectivamente la separación de poderes, usted es Santanderista.

Si usted cree que lejos de la Estatización de capitales, el desarrollo de un país y de sus regiones se logrará solo mediante el libre comercio, y garantizándoles a los ciudadanos el sagrado derecho a la propiedad privada, usted es Santanderista.

En un país convulsionado como el que hemos visto los últimos meses, donde cada quien interpreta la ley como mejor le convenga, donde grupos terroristas infringen la ley y políticos sin escrúpulos en aras de capitalizar políticamente la anarquía, salen a legitimar y a tergiversar lo consagrado en los códigos; en un país donde unos pocos paralizaron el libre comercio, ultrajaron la propiedad pública y privada; en un país donde los jóvenes claman por más oportunidades de educación, se brinden mejores condiciones en la educación pública, y que esta se separe del debate político y los maestros se dediquen a enseñar y a educar y no a adoctrinar; en un país donde las regiones imploran que lleguen mayores recursos, más oportunidades y que sean tenidas en cuenta para las decisiones que les conciernen, en este país está más vivo que nunca el ideal Santanderista. Yo soy Santanderista, ¿y usted?
