¿Qué pasará cuando llegue la vacuna?

Muchos tienen esperanza respecto de la pronta llegada de una vacuna contra la COVID-19; incluso, varios laboratorios y países han declarado avances en el desarrollo de estos biológicos, y Rusia anunció que en noviembre empezará a suministrar a México vacunas de Sputnik V.

Sin embargo, debemos tener un panorama global; si en el planeta hay alrededor de 8.000 millones de habitantes, cada uno requeriría una doble dosis, ya que es cierto que se requiere un refuerzo en el mismo año para que sea efectiva.  De ser así, se van a necesitar 16.000 millones de vacunas, además no solo es el volumen o cantidad de biológicos, esto implica también un reto para los Gobiernos del mundo en logística de distribución y aplicación.

Según una reciente entrevista realizada por la Revista Semana a Gabriel Jaramillo, el salto del laboratorio a la producción masiva tiene enormes desafíos; las fábricas de biológicos requieren unos procesos de normalización que toman tiempo.  Adicional, sigue la compra, aprobación por parte del INVIMA, transporte de biológicos a los diferentes rincones del país, teniendo en cuenta que hasta que no salga la vacuna no se tendrá certeza respecto a la temperatura con la que hay que trabajar y conservar la vacuna. Esa cifra podría llegar a los -80 grados centígrados. Por tanto, se requiere de equipos de refrigeración que garanticen esa cadena de frío.

Dentro de las proyecciones del Gobierno Nacional a través del Ministerio de Salud, la prioridad en los primeros años 2021 y 2022 será proteger  al personal de salud, ya que es el primer eslabón para garantizar la estabilidad en la contención de esta pandemia, seguirán los mayores de 65 años y las personas con comorbilidades. Este sería el escenario más realista para un futuro a corto plazo.

Ahora bien, es importante reconocer que Colombia tiene uno de los programas de inmunización mejor ajustados en el hemisferio occidental, en el país se aplican cerca de 30 millones de dosis de vacunas cada año, especialmente a menores de 5 años, mujeres embarazadas y adultos mayores.

En septiembre de este año, el presidente Iván Duque anunció el ingreso de Colombia a Covax, un mecanismo multilateral en alianza con la Unicef. Los países definen sus necesidades y Covax sale a comprar las vacunas que se necesitarán, por medio de un portafolio dinámico que se puede medir probabilísticamente.

Pero existe otro factor clave y es la generación de confianza de las personas frente a la vacuna, eliminar cualquier tipo de prejuicio, pues aunque la vacuna puede no ser totalmente efectiva, tiene que inspirar la tranquilidad de que es segura.

Será fundamental también hacer cambios en los estilos de vida y alimentación saludable, que permitan mitigar los factores de riesgo ante el virus, garantizar los esquemas de vacunación existentes, para prevenir las enfermedades que son prevenibles, y de esta manera estar lo menos desprotegidos ante el coronavirus.

En conclusión, debemos prepararnos para tres años de tapabocas, distanciamiento físico, lavado de manos y posibilidad de contagio; no descartar otras opciones para tratar el virus de la COVID-19 en las personas contagiadas como medicamentos y tratamientos.  El 2021 será un año en el que caminaremos hacia la normalidad, el sistema de salud se ha preparado y fortalecido, pero el rigor en el autocuidado nos garantiza que podamos seguir activos económica y socialmente.

a vivir con coronavirus por un tiempo.

    Aunque ya estamos tomando conciencia sobre la agresividad del virus, aun vemos personas utilizando inadecuadamente el tapabocas en sitios públicos, otros no creen lo que está sucediendo, por lo tanto esperamos que llegue muy pronto la tan anhelada vacuna, para que pase esta sosobra del día a día. Pues 2020 nos ha dejado muchas huellas de dolor.

      Realidad dura, pero al fin y al cabo es lo que ahora nos tocó; el autocuidado, prevención y fortalecer el sistema inmune, minimiza los graves efectos de este virus, que nos implantaron y va a estar con nosotros bastante tiempo.     Esta es la nueva normalidad de la que tanto se habla, pero que no es otra cosa, que concientizarnos y cuidarnos, entender que los protocolos de bioseguridad se deben cumplir estrictamente, mientras que llegue la tan anhelada vacuna o como dicen otros, mientras todos nos inmunizamos. Queda otro interrogante que todavía los científicos no han aclarado totalmente y es la posibilidad que existe de reinfección, por esta razón algo es seguro: todos, incluso los recuperados, deben mantener las medidas de bioseguridad para evitar contraer el virus.

    Creo que la pandemia nos ha dejado muchas enseñanzas como el autocuidado y la responsabilidad que debemos tener con nuestro círculo social y familiar para aplicar en futuros sucesos similares. EL SARS-COV2 es un nuevo virus con el que debemos convivir ya que similar a otros pasará a pertenecer a una larga lista de enfermedades endémicas como el dengue, zika, entre otros. Es por ello, que los entes gubernamentales y organizaciones mundiales deben desarrollar estrategias más equilibradas, ya que al tomar decisiones como fueron las cuarentenas obligatorias en la premura por realizar un cerco al avance del virus, estas desiciones generarón efectos colaterales muy severos a la mayoría de los países que siguieron las mismas directrices. Lo realmente importante es ver las experiencias exitosas de países nórdicos y Corea del Sur los cuales fueron más ingeniosos e implementaron medidas que minimizaron los impactos en sus sociedades.

    Es por eso que es importante analizar como el contexto fronterizo, en especial su particular tipo de economía, nos puede llevar a triunfar o a fracasar en este contante juego de Bienestar.

    Definitivamente la vida cambió con la llegada del Covid 19 a nuestras vidas, realmente ha hecho que las personas tengamos que pensar más en autoprotección y protección a los otros. Pensar que demostrar afecto o compañía, sería parte de unas conductas de riesgo, es inaudito, es por esto, que la conciencia del riesgo, y asumir comportamientos de protección es la salida.

    Afirmativa y acertada columna, el autocuidado personal será clave para continuar viviendo con este virus que está presente y muy seguramente estará en adelante activo por mucho tiempo.
    Atender y ser receptivos con la vacuna será vital para crear anticuerpos en cada organismo del ser humano y efectivamente no será una sola dosis la que reciba cada persona, para combatir cualquier virus se deben suministrar más de un biológico con valles de meses durante un año e incluso se deben repetir las dosis de “X” vacuna cada 5 años, según sea el virus o patología que presente la persona.

    Aparte de que por el momento es probable que no habrá “la vacuna “ si no varias, cada una con un grado inferior a 100%, el problema de Norte de Santander es otro: la corrupción, ineptitud y politiquería de representantes de instituciones públicas. El mejor ejemplo es Gregorio Angarita de Corponor. Hasta que no se resuelve este problema de fondo, será difícil el avance de Norte de Santander.
