Frente al comportamiento de la curva de contagio producto de la pandemia, muchas ciudades han entrado en la fase que llamaré “indiferencia” y Cúcuta no es la excepción.
Las autoridades departamentales y municipales han tomado medidas preventivas, de tal manera que la infección pulmonar y otras, mermen su agresivo contagio. Las mismas, incluyen pico y cédula, toque de queda, restricción de actividad deportiva y otras que muy a mi pesar, se convirtieron en un saludo a la bandera y explicaré el por qué.
En el mes de marzo, cuando la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) declaró la pandemia, la ciudadanía entró en pánico, por cuanto las existencias de antibacterial, alcohol, tapabocas y guantes, se agotaron en cuestión de horas. En las dos últimas semanas de ese mes, no había mayores restricciones y, sin embargo, el miedo a perder la vida se hizo presente, hasta los primeros días de abril.
Ahora, cuando los casos de contagio aumentan no solo por la demora en los resultados, sino por la irresponsabilidad de la gente, son tan evidentes que pareciera que no sucede nada y prueba de ello, el nutrido grupo de personas caminando por las vías, el tránsito de automotores con más de dos personas y frecuente sobrecupo de transporte público, cobrará más vidas, así no lo sigan creyendo los ciudadanos.
Nuevamente es preciso comentar las ventajas que brinda el interpretar y aceptar las estadísticas, toda vez que en un grupo de WhatsApp compuesto por seis personas, por lo menos uno de sus participantes conoce algún caso de contagio o muerte de un familiar o amigo, razón por la cual, la amenaza está más cerca que nunca y eso que no incluimos grupos de trabajo.
Ahora, la irresponsabilidad de los conductores de servicio público tipo bus o buseta, al permitir transportar más personas de lo autorizado, es censurable puesto que violan olímpicamente las mínimas normas que establecen el distanciamiento social. Es decir, que dichos conductores hacen lo que les viene en gana y no se les puede decir nada porque de inmediato el conductor dice: “si no le gusta, pues bájese”.
Al respecto, la Policía Nacional, encargada de cumplir las decisiones administrativas, debe ajustar sus procedimientos, sin que los mismos se traduzcan en malestar ciudadano. Es decir, que los operativos apunten a reducir la posibilidad de contagio comunitario, en lugar de azotar a los más vulnerables.
Mientras no se actúe con riguroso control, la pandemia seguirá avanzando, dejando en su camino a familiares y amigos, dado que, a pesar de tener serias instrucciones del ejecutivo departamental y municipal, el problema continúa desbordado. Por otra parte, con el hecho de fijar acciones puntuales en una u otra comuna, la tarea de vigilancia es definitiva, por cuanto está demostrado que muchas personas consideran que entramos en una fiesta que durará muchos meses.
Y con respecto al sobrecupo, la autoridad metropolitana de transporte debe incrementar la frecuencia de horarios, de tal manera que este problema quede resuelto, mientras tanto, seguiremos observando el crecimiento de la curva de infectados.
